Brotherhood is the quintessential aspect of a fraternity. With strong brotherhood among its members, a fraternity can accomplish much more than what an individual could do alone. It allows an organization to attain its goals despite the many inherent differences among its members. This is important because our chapter is as diverse as it gets, having members of different ages, social classes, religious beliefs and ethnicities. Brotherhood in our chapter is strong because we all have pride in our chapter, each other and what we stand for.
As an ideal, brotherhood is that which bonds us together. What's more is that because it is such an all-encompassing idea, it is part of virtually every aspect not only within our house but also beyond its walls. Therefore, we strive, in everything we do, to strengthen that fraternal bond. From simply studying for a midterm to being the Best Man in a brother’s wedding, this bond lasts a life time.
We plan several all-chapter brotherhood events each semester. Some of the things we've done in the past include: Tailgates, brotherhood dinners, a fantasy football league, Super Bowl parties, paintball, bowling, Spring Break, community service, and house improvement.
The Beta Mu Chapter has a long history here at Iowa. We want our chapter to continue its tradition of success, pride and excellence on this campus. Brotherhood is the best way to do this; couple this with Hawkeye Pride, and you have the perfect formula for success.
